Drugs to Blame For Amy Winehouse Death?
Even her biggest fans likely agree that if Amy Winehouse died from something other than a drug overdose, it would come as something of a surprise.
Tabloid reports that her last 36 hours were spent in a drug-induced blur are therefore easy to believe, but nothing has been established conclusively.
A source told Britain's The People the late Rehab singer, who was found dead Saturday at 27, was seen buying the narcotics at a London bar Friday.
Fueled by whiskey, ecstasy, ketamine, cocaine and heroin, reports say, "Amy seemed determined to have a big one," an insider told the tabloid.
"Getting out of it was clearly her main priority of the night," the source adds. "None of us know who was with her into the early hours of Saturday."
Should we believe this? Not so fast.
Amy's doctor had just visited the singer Friday, a day before she died, and was reportedly "happy with her condition," an insider told The UK Sun.
Of course, a lot can happen in a day.
"When he left on Friday night he had no concerns. Less than 24 hours later she was found dead," the insider told the paper. "Amy's health has been very fragile and she has been having a series of checkups."
Amy's parents, Mitch and Janis, have shot down reports of their daughter's drug-fueled demise, saying they don't think drugs were responsible.
Some friends of the late singer are speculating Winehouse might have intentionally overdosed after a quarrel with her boyfriend Reg Traviss, after he'd found out about recent conversations she’d had with ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The Winehouse family flatly denied that took place.
Asked about reports that Amy had bought "cocaine, ketamine and ecstasy hours before she died," her parents said that it was all "nonsense."
Police confirm that no signs of drugs were spotted in her house, and her doctor reportedly did give the "all clear" the night before her death.
So what else would have done it? Instead, some believe Amy's passing was brought on by a massive seizure, with alcohol as the catalyst.
"The hardcore drugs completely wrecked Amy's nervous system ... She gave up [hard drugs] a while ago but she was still drinking heavily."
"That could bring on seizures."
Amy had been suffering from seizures regularly and, despite being warned by doctors, kept drinking. Still, we repeat, none of this is proven.
We'll find out more when toxicology reports come in. In the meantime, we hope that her parents, friends, and fans band together in support.
Melissa Molinaro Calls Out Kim Kardashian: Get a Life!
Melissa Molinaro looks very much like Kim Kardashian. This is no secret. Old Navy admitted as much after featuring the aspiring singer in a commercial a few months ago.
But Kardashian apparently isn't flattered by the doppelganger use, as she filed a $20 million lawsuit against the company last week, claiming the ad was an "unauthorized use of Kardashian's name, likeness, identity and persona."
Now, Molinaro has responded - and basically told Kim to get a life.
"We're still talking about this?! It's JULY this aired in February...some people have too much time on there [sic] hands," Molinaro Tweeted, seeming to imply that Kardashian has nothing to do but whine and social network.
"I'm blown away by all your support and blessed to have an amazing family & friends like you!" Melissa added.
It should be noted: Kim did not mention Molinaro in the suit. She also has a line with rival retailer Sears in the works. The gloves - and, most likely, shirts - are about to come off, folks!
Amy Winehouse Autopsy Results: Inconclusive
How did Amy Winehouse die?
Despite rumors that drugs were to blame for her tragic demise Saturday, the exact cause of death has yet to be pinned down, and may not be for weeks.
According to reports, the late singer's autopsy – which took place on Monday at the St. Pancras Mortuary in London – has not established a cause of death.
Results are expected in 2-4 weeks, after further toxicology tests are performed.
R.I.P. Amy Winehouse (1983-2011).
Police who found Amy Winehouse dead say there were NO drugs or paraphernalia in her home. Various tabloid reports that she went on an epic bender the previous night have circulated, but those have not been confirmed.
Officials say her death was "not suspicious" and that she died alone in her bed. She was discovered by a security guard hired to check up on her.
For now, Amy's death at age 27 - the same age that saw the end of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain - remains a mystery.

Jennifer Lopez: Close Deal to New American Idol Deal
Let's leave Jennifer Lopez's messy personal life aside for a moment and focus on her professional universe: Just how close is the singer to returning in 2012 as a judge on American Idol?
VERY, according to Cécile Frot-Coutaz, the CEO of FremantleMedia North America, which produces the Fox competition.
“We’re in good shape," she told The Wall Street Journal. "No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon.”
An announcement may be made any day this week, which would seemingly be welcome by most Idol viewers.
Despite losing Simon Cowell and despite upheaval at the table due to the departures of Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres, season 10 of American Idol garnered huge ratings with J. Lo and Steven Tyler on board.

Amy Winehouse dies aged 27 of a suspected drug overdose
The troubled singer Amy Winehouse, once regarded as the brightest young star in music, has died aged 27 of a suspected drug overdose.
Paramedics discovered her at her north London home yesterday at around 4pm yesterday, but were unable to help.
Her death follows years of widely-publicised addiction to drugs and alcohol, which saw Winehouse fade from the height of her musical success and become more talked-about for her physical decline.
On Saturday night, Winehouse's father, Mitch, a former London black cab driver who launched his own jazz career following his daughter's success, was believed to be travelling back to London from New York. The singer Michelle Gayle, a friend of the family, said that Mr Winehouse was "devastated".
Last night, friends of the star paid tribute to her extraordinary talent. The singer and actress Kelly Osbourne said: "I can't even breath right now I'm crying so hard, I just lost one of my best friends. I love you forever Amy and will never forget the real you!"
LeAnn Rimes, the country singer, said "RIP Amy Winehouse. So sad to see such a talent gone and her life end in tragedy."
Winehouse became as famous for her erratic behaviour and bee-hive hairdo as her unique, soulful voice and accomplished songwriting, which resulted in some of the most famous and recognisable hits in recent years, including Rehab, a song about her refusal to attend a rehablitation clinic, and Love is a Losing Game.
During one infamous performance at the Eden Project in Cornwall in 2007, she forgot her lyrics, spat at her fans and hit herself in the face with her microphone.
Another performance at Glastonbury in 2008 saw the singer stumble about on the stage, mumbling incoherently while the crowd heckled.
In the years that followed, numerous comebacks were promised, but none materialised, with countless concerts called off at the last-minute due to her fragile health.
Only last month, her management were forced to cancel all forthcoming tour dates and engagements following a series of erratic public appearances and a disastrous performance in Belgrade, Serbia, which will now go down as her final concert.
The singer made her last impromptu public appearance on Wednesday night, when she joined her goddaughter, the singer Dionne Bromfield on stage at The Roundhouse in Camden, dancing with Bromfield and encouraging the audience to buy her album before stumbling off the stage.
It had once all seemed so promising for Winehouse. After winning a scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School at the age of 12, she began to write songs of her own and sing at weekends with jazz bands and the National Youth Orchestra, performing her songs at family parties and barmitzvahs.
A friend in the music industry heard the young Winehouse at one such event and decided to give her studio time to record some demos, which led to her signing a record deal with Island Records at the age of 18.
The following year, in 2003, the 19-year-old Winehouse released her debut album, Frank, which was critically acclaimed and nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.
Her follow up three year's later, Back to Black, became one of the biggest-selling records in 2006, and made history when it entered the American album charts at number seven, the highest position ever for a British female artist.
Featuring the songs Back to Black, Tears Dry on Their Own and You Know I'm No Good, it sold more than three million copies and and led to five Grammy Awards, making Winehouse the first British singer to win five Grammy's in one evening.
She also won the coveted Ivor Novello songwriting award three times, and was widely seen as a forerunner for the recent wave of hugely successful female singers writing about their experiences of heartache and relationships, including Adele and Duffy.
Winehouse's life began to spiral out of control in 2005 when she met Blake Fielder-Civil, a music video assistant, in a north London pub.
Although Fielder-Civil was already in a relationship, the pair began an affair, and soon afterwards, Winehouse became notorious for her drunken public appearances and erratic behaviour, running offstage during one performance that year to vomit, and increasingly slurring her words during interviews and onstage.
But the fiery relationship with Fielder-Civil appeared to fuel her songwriting skills, and though the couple split briefly in 2006 when he went back to an old girlfriend, whereupon Winehouse sunk into depression, during that period, she wrote Back to Black, an album of heartbroken songs which saw her record sales soar.
Dramatic weight loss followed, prompting speculation of eating disorders and heroin addiction, and in April 2007, she and Fielder-Civil rekindled their relationship and married the following month in a £60 ceremony in Miami, Florida, celebrating with burgers and chips.
Soon afterwards came the couple's notorious outing in Soho, where they were photographed lashing out at each other, him bleeding from his face and Winehouse with bloodied feet.
Later that year, Fielder-Civil was sent to prison on remand on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice after allegedly trying to bribe a man to drop assault charges against him.
Although friends and parents hoped that separation from Fielder-Civil would result in a clean slate for Winehouse, it never happened.
She relocated to the Caribbean island of St Lucia in an attempt to "get clean", but was soon seen drinking heavily and behaving erratically, appearing in a bikini on the beach with a large, unexplained burn on her leg.
A recent breast enlargement and yet more erratic public appearances continued to fuel speculation that all was not well in Winehouse's world, despite repeated claims by her management that she would soon be back on track and that she was writing new music.
Winehouse once said: "I've always been a little homemaker. I know I'm talented, but I wasn't put here to sing. I was put here to be a wife and a mum and to look after my family. I love what I do, but it's not where it begins and ends."
Tragically, both her musical and personal ambitions will never be truly fufilled.

Lindsay Lohan sued for assault by former rehab worker
A rehab worker who was fired from the Betty Ford Centre in Los Angeles after an argument with Lindsay Lohan is suing the actress.
Lawyers for Dawn Bradley filed the lawsuit in California accusing the star of assault and battery.
She claims she was seriously injured during an argument with the 25-year-old in December and needs surgery on her wrist.
Steve Honig, a spokesman for Lohan, declined to comment on the case.
Dawn Bradley, who is also known by her married name of Dawn Holland, was fired from Betty Ford Centre after talking about the fight with Lohan on camera with a celebrity news website.
A probation report reveals that Bradley had been trying to give Lindsay Lohan a breathalyzer test after she missed curfew and was with two other girls who admitted drinking that night.
The actress was sent to LA's Betty Ford Centre for three months of treatment after failing a drug screening for cocaine and amphetamines.
House arrest
Meanwhile, a judge has told Lindsay Lohan that she has to spend more time doing community service.
She was warned that she had to finish 480 hours of community service by next April.
The actress, best known for appearances in Mean Girls and TV series Ugly Betty, was released from house arrest last month.
She spent 35 days at her apartment for stealing a necklace last January and is now working at a shelter for women and LA's county morgue.
"She's not going to get five minutes more than one year to complete the service," superior court judge Stephanie Sautner said.
The actress was also told off for not providing officials with a phone number where she could be reached for monitoring.
The 25-year-old has completed one of four anti-shoplifting classes and has been given until 19 October to finish the rest.
The star was also ordered to find a new counsellor "within three weeks" after saying she couldn't afford to pay a psychiatrist who was previously treating her.
Lohan is also still on probation over a 2007 drink-drive case.
Demi Lovato on Recovery: An Ongoing Journey
Demi Lovato says her recovery from "emotional and physical issues" is an ongoing struggle, but one she's doing well with on a road to recovery.
In her new song, "Skyscraper," she sings about being torn down, but rising above adversity - a familiar topic from her real-life experiences.
"This is an ongoing process," she says. "The hardest part about these diseases is that they're things that I'm going to have to face every day."
Lovato, who may or may not be dating Ryan Phillippe, is definitely back on the music scene in a big way, with a renewed sense of confidence.
Since her three-month stay in rehab, she's come a long way in a fight with bulimia, anorexia, self-mutilation, depression and bipolar disorder.
"I'm going to mess up, and I'm not going to be perfect," she says.
"But as long as I try every day to get better and better myself, then I'm one step ahead of where I was before. They are issues that every girl deals with ... it doesn't help being in front of cameras while I'm trying to be in recovery.
So why not live a more private life? Because music helps her, she says, so the sacrifice of remaining in the public eye is one she's willing to make.
"I thought, 'Music is something that keeps me healthy and that has saved my life at one point,'" she says. "I love it, I'm not going to give it up."
Judge to Lindsay Lohan: Get Your $h!t Together!!
Judge Stephanie Sautner made it clear today that she is unimpressed with Lindsay Lohan and her progress, or lack thereof, in completing her probation.
The actress was reamed out at a progress hearing and told that she had better complete her community service within a year of sentencing - or else.
"I'm not going to give five extra minutes," she said, adding, "I don't want to hear, 'Oh, I couldn't do it because I was on the set of a John Gotti movie.'"
The judge was frustrated that in two months since she somehow avoided jail for stealing a necklace, Lindsay has completed just four days out of 60.
Also upset that Lindsay had not enrolled in psychological counseling - as she's required to do - Sautner is giving her 21 days to sign up, or else!
The L.A. County Probation Dept. asked Judge Sautner to violate Lindsay's probation and remand her into custody for three alleged violations.
It's worth noting that two claims were bogus and the third - LiLo not returning a call from her probation officer - was resolved (she called back).
Judge Sautner made it very clear that she will revoke LiLo's probation if she doesn't get her a$$ in gear, but told off her probation officer, too.
Sautner called the officer's claims totally inaccurate and judge strongly implied the probation officer was unfairly gunning for Lindsay Lohan.
The probation officer's alleged beef with Lohan was threefold:
- Lindsay did not pay $3,900 in fees for community service. This was not a violation, however, has she has three years to pay these.
- Lindsay did not return the call of the probation officer. Again, the probation officer was wrong. Lohan actually left three messages.
- Lindsay did not prove to the department that she enrolled in her community service program, shoplifting program, and psychological counseling. Again, irrelevant. Lohan had to report these to the judge alone.
People connected with LiLo think the probation officer has an axe to grind. It looks like the judge agrees, as she wasn't moved by the claims.
Still, Sautner has her own gripes with the way Lohan has conducted herself, and the possibility of jail still looms if she keeps screwing up.
In other legal news, Lohan is being sued by Dawn Holland.
Jenelle Evans Tests Positive For Drugs, Violates Probation, is a Moron - Latest Hollywood News Gossips
Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has reportedly violated the terms of her probation, and it doesn't look good for the troubled North Carolina native at all.
In a July 15, 2011 violation report, the 19-year-old mother:
- Tested positive for THC (found in marijuana)
- Is behind on court fee payments
- Has not attended an aftercare plan that was required upon her release from rehab. He was 30 days sober too, supposedly.
"The defendant tested positive for THC on 7/13/2011 and admitting using same," the report reads. "The defendant was discharged from inpatient treatment on 6/7/2011; recommended aftercare / discharge plan was not followed."
"Since the defendant's discharge from inpatient treatment she has failed to follow up with any care," the report goes on, noting that Evans, who was recently arrested for PUNISHING Britany Truett, also owes $320 in fees.
Jenelle Evans' attorney insists there's more to it than that.
"What I can tell you is that she is up to date on her payments and the probation officer has been made aware of this. As to the positive test, we wouldn't be able to comment right now," attorney Dustin Sullivan said.
A hearing on the charges of her probation violation is set for August 24.

Pippa Middleton’s curves will soon be available to all after her Pilates coach signed a book deal following a fierce bidding war.
It is not clear whether the book will feature an endorsement by Ms Middleton, or indeed the famous pictures of her helping her sister Catherine, now the Duchess of Cambridge, up the aisle.

You can do it at any time – while you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, pushing a buggy or sitting in a publishing meeting.”
A Hodder spokesperson would not divulge the size of the advance that had been paid to Ms Campbell. However she confirmed that the book will be published in January 2012.
In her testimonial on the Pilates on the Go website, Ms Middleton added: “From breathing techniques, muscle toning to overall flexibility and relaxation, my Pilates sessions have become something of a weekly necessity that keeps me fit, happy and energized.”
