A LOS Angeles judge today sentenced actress Lindsay Lohan to 120 days in jail for violating her probation with her arrest in a necklace theft case.
Lohan was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service, with 360 of those hours to be performed at the Downtown Women's Center, TMZ reported.
Entertainment news website RadarOnline reported Lohan had been taken into custody after the jail sentence, but that her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, was launching a bid for her release.
Judge Stephanie Sautner set Lohan's bail at $75,000, pending an appeal.
Sautner earlier reduced a felony theft charge to a misdemeanor, after the troubled actress allegedly walked out of a jewellery boutique without paying for a $2500 gold necklace in January, and set a pretrial hearing for May 11.
In ordering Lohan to stand trial, Sautner found the actress in violation of her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI conviction. The judge then reviewed surveillance footage from the incident to determine Lohan's punishment.
