American Idol has already had Russell Brand on the show this season, and we were wondering when his better half would show up. Well now we can tell you officially that she's been booked for their upcoming futuristic themed episode. According to a press release, Katy will sing her hit song E.T. next week. She'll be joined by Idol alum David Cook, who will be performing his new single The Last Goodbye.

So what's up with the intergalactic theme? Well, contestants will not only wear futuristic wardrobe, but they'll have to pick songs from the 21st century-which is January 1st, 2000 thru the present. Keep in mind, we're down one dude in the competition-Paul McDonald was the first guy to be voted off from the finalists crew. So who do you think is next?
